Cannot Delete Folders in Windows Vista

Sometimes when deleting a folder first the UAC fires up and you’re asked to continue. Then the user is prompted “Cannot delete Folder: It is being used by another person. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again”. Of course other prompts you might see include:

  • “Cannot delete file: Access is denied”
  • “There has been a sharing violation”
  • “The source or destination file may be in use”
  • “The file is in use by another program or user”
  • “Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use”

First let’s figure out the Problem:

Let’s say you have the main folder named ‘folder1‘, and in it there’s another folder aka ‘folder2‘. You try to delete folder1 but an Access Denied prompt is loaded. What should I do? There are three solutions..

  • The Simple Solution
  • The Slow Solution (but easy)
  • The Fast Solution (but technical)… after the break…

Sync iPhone 3G with Google Calendar and Contacts

Update 2:

Finally, a solution on how to sync your iPhone Calendar with your Google Calendar exists.

Click here for the solution that works fine to start synching!

Update:

Apparently, as some have noted in the comments, the goosync isn’t working as Apple doesn’t let third party applications change and manage it’s calendar on the iPhone. I will be contacting GooSync support to see if there is a work around. Sorry to all those that tried the steps and not having it working. If anyone managed to make this work, please let me know in the comments. Thanks.

So we’ve covered how you can sync your iPhone with Windows Live Contacts on Windows Vista. Now’s the time for Google… for those people who for a reason or another prefer Google products’ over Microsoft’s.

This post will not only show you the how to sync iPhone Contacts with Google Contacts, but also how to sync iPhone Calendar with Google Calendar. This is now possible to an online service called GooSync. Toffa International, the developers of GooSync, has recently added iPhone support to its online service.

This means that when you change, create or delete a contact, or an appointment, GooSync takes care to always sync the iPhone with Google’s online services which is done automatically.

As for Requirements, you need to either have an iPhone 3G or iPhone with 2.0 Software or greater.

Now the How To?… after the break… it’s a bit long 🙂 Read the rest of this entry »

Sync Outlook with Windows Live Calendar For Free!

During this last week, Microsoft released a new version of its Microsoft Outlook Connector. This happened to add support for the recent update done on Windows Live Calendar which is still in Beta.

With this update you can now sync multiple Windows Live Calendars with Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 or Office Outlook 2007. You can now take advantage of Outlook’s great calendar and time management features and still access your schedule on the web anytime, and anywhere… and always for free (ok you need to buy outlook first… although there are other ways to get outlook… like… maybe some special… very special promotions… :)…!! )

For those that never used the Windows Live Calendar Beta, you can access it on this web address: http://calendar.live.com. It has a fast and functional Ajax user interface providing a rich experience on the web… supporting many new features making Outlook look even better!! For example, if you have multiple calendars (maybe one to use for work, another one for your events) or even shared calendars, each of them will sync with Microsoft Office Outlook always by using the Office Outlook Connector Beta.

Check out the How To? after the break… Read the rest of this entry »

New Windows Vista Ads – “Windows, Not Walls”

Microsoft is launching its new Windows Vista ads next September 4th which will cost Microsoft about $300 million. Apparently these new ads are going to be titled “Windows, Not Walls”, and will feature Jerry Seinfeld and also… Bill Gates (preview his audition movie after the break).

Personally I love Windows Vista… at home i use the Vista Ultimate 64-bit Edition and let me tell you… it’s awesome! Till now… it never crashed, has a very fast startup… anyway let’s continue on the ads…

The new ads’ goal is to reverse the negative public perception of Windows Vista done by Apple’s Get A Mac ads  (and let me tell you… from my experience, most of those ads are not even near the truth… but most people beleive everything…). The new campaign is said to be one of the largest campaings in Microsoft’s History. Read the rest of this entry »

iPhone Flash

One of the many reasons that a user buys an iPhone surely isn’t because of the photo options the iPhone has… in fact the iPhone is very limited in this department. A feature that surely would be very useful is the ‘Flash’… not Adobe ‘Flash’ player… although it would also be a nice addition…! Anyway…

Until Apple figures out how to make this dream come true, a bunch of Russian people, with ‘some’ mods, managed to do this… In fact what they did was to replace the Apple chrome logo with… a glowing logo, like on any macbook or macbook pro!!… or any macbook air! Imagine… the solution was always on the back!!! 🙂
